So, I've spent quite a while creating a nether hub trainstation to take you all to the towns popping up around!
HOWEVER, this is made pretty much irrellevant given that warps are quicker and cheaper. What I propose is that warps are made to cost a small amount. Similar to the way the /home command works.
Before you all go and complain about the idea, hear me out. In game money is used to save your time. From buying blocks to teleporting, it is all designed to save you time (even buying land to an extent). This means that money's true value is time (time is money and all that).
My proposal is that warping to spawn (/spawn or /warp spawn) will cost $3 (less than the /home command). This is a cost to cover the time you would spend otherwise travelling there. Other warps would cost $6, (more than the /home command). This is because they are more 'convenience' warps as upposed to spawn, which is a server vital warp.
Incase you were wondering, the rail service to towns takes roughly two minutes tops to get to any location. Current travel times for the rails (not including the walking to the rails) are: ChillVille - 1m 30s CobbleTown - 1m 45s The Flotilla - 2m 35s
Once the town creation slows down, it is possible that some of the larger/more impressive bases may be also made into tunnel destinations.
Hope you like the idea! - Vralka

I vote to ban tping in general to utalise the amazing hub you created. But i know that wont be brought on with too many smiles.

I can think of a problem, overloading (traffic). What if we start to rise in population and the rails get clogged? As it is now if a player came from an town and a player started traveling to a town, they would collide.
And how about paying player a novelty amount to use the rails (say $5 or $10)? It doesn't make a whole bunch of sense.... but it could increase the usage.

If traffc becomes a major issue, a solution would be to install a second rail, a one way system would prevent any issues with collisions, as we could force one way travel quite simply. I don't like the idea of charging to use the rails, as while they are a novelty at the moment, given the free nature of warping, they would have incredibly low value given the incredibly short duration of travel. If we force players to use their own minecarts (possibly selling THOSE at the hub, say, $4 a piece) then the rails will have an effective cost, but not be much (if that makes sense).

Vral as much as i like your idea, it would pose many problems. One of them being that for the most part the reason people use warps and want warps for their town is so that the DON'T have to pay to get there.. two, the hub is nice and all but if it costs to both get there and use it, and theres the problem of colision it would just be a nuisance to use, for the cost of more than /warp or walking/boating... it s a good idea yes I just dont think it would work as well as you think

Vralka found a way to fix collisions tho. also, warping around just seems... too simple. Just imo

Spartain, a suggestion to solve the issues would be to have /spawn and /warp hub could be free then. Also, warping to towns would be cheaper than /home so that moving into a town is still a good idea (or atleast building nearby)
And, as MayDewRQ has said, the collision issue can be solved by running special tracks.

I would still be interested in getting other opinions on this, It's still something I think could work for the server. Sorry for the bump! - Vralka
