Lets keep the comments going here I guess, there are far too many other posts and pms scattered. I said I would keep the tekkit going till it couldn't pay for itself; and we've hit that point! Since tekkit is a resource hog I am paying about $40 per month to keep it alive (even for such few people) and there just isn't that much coming in. I'm also dealing with the credit card company of a user who made fraudulent charges, pretty much that money is gone (which only puts the server further in the hole). I'm sure we could gather the funds for another month, but I don't want to have to go through this every month. Plus our tekkit is now officially "classic" we won't see many new players joining. Not much else to say It wouldn't be fair for any one person to pick up the server tab.

I will make the world available for download at the end. Just the world, no server files. That means no ranks, region, or the other thousands of files in the background. The tekkit and vanilla share many of the same custom files, bad things could happen if they got in the wrong hands.
Also, anyone who has donated to the tekkit server and is moving to the vanilla server please contact me via pm, I will make sure you have your perks and money re-applied in the new server.

Plz transfer my goodies. Check your PMs. Well, i dunno what to say! So if someone else hosted, could everyone keep everything theyve got on the new server? like money, creations and stuff No. Only the world will be available. No economy standings, permissions, plugins, jobs, restrictions, regions, commands, or anything else you can think of. This is for nostalgic purposes only PS: Something I just thought of. Last time the tekkit world was zipped up all of the chunks became corrupt and were out of place. Hopefully that doesn't happen again.

Gn3sda... suggestion... for the sake of all of us that play on this server. Depending on what hosting website you're paying for the server... you can reduce the max players... because we really dont go over 18 much... reduce the max players to 25... that will almost cut the cost in half... and some hosting sites will let you make a commited payment which gives you a discount... like say you pay yearly, and get 25% off of it if you were to pay for the server for a year monthly... Just an idea... PLEASE DO NOT SHUT THIS SERVER DOWN ~PitaChip

Tekkit is a resource hog, any less and you can get laggy. Some player's laggy bases gaurentee that. A slightly reduced package for a full year will probably run around $400. I don't think anyone wants to pay that. And no one without a business class connection or fiber or better will be able to host even the small number of players we have either.

That's understandable since it's clear you didn't really chose the best hosting site to purchase from... My suggestion: Save the world... Create a new account in a better hosting website such as kerplunc treepuncher... And have the same world, reduce max players (BTW with treepuncher you dont need a certain RAM dedication for more players, you can customize them both separately) And it will be much lower cost... Please gnesda... All of us from LiveWire Tekkit would LOVE YOU if you keep the server running... Just check out their website when you can... I think you'd like what you see

Pita, that's a little harsh I feel. Gn has managed to get a brilliant hosting service, lag is incredibly low for a tekkit server! The fact that it costs quite a bit is clearly linked to the RAM dedication we need to set up a Tekkit server with as much world as we've got! I'd love the Tekkit to continue, but I doubt Gn hasn't considered every eventuality when stating that it may need to shut down. Hope your next post will be a little bit less rash, - Vralka
